WELLINGTON, Florida, Sept. 26, 2022–The Global Dressage Festival will stage a complete schedule of seven international competitions over the three months of winter plus a December World Cup in the lineup of four qualifiers for the Omaha Final.

Posting of the 2023 GDF schedule rom Jan. 11-15 to Mar. 22-26 on the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) calendar  erases doubts for next winter circuit at the venue known as Equestrian Village where the Global circuit was launched in 2012.

The biggest change from recent years is moving the CDIO3* and Under-25 Nations Cups to Feb. 22-26 from late in the circuit. Germany won the senior team competition this year but did not count for standings in the trans-Atlantic series as the minimum of four teams did not compete. Several European riders had already left beforehand.

The first of four World Cup qualifiers at the Global grounds is scheduled for Dec. 8-11, four weeks before the start of GDF.

The GDF schedule as posted on the FEI calendar:

Jan. 11-15–World Cup, CDI4*
Jan. 25-29–CDI4*, CDI3*
Feb. 8-12–World Cup, CDI4*
Feb. 22-26–CDIO3* Nations Cup, CDIOU25 Nations Cup
Mar. 1-5 –World Cup, CDI3*
Mar. 14-19–CDI5*, CDI3*
Mar. 22-26–CDI4*, CDI3*

The Equestrian Village used for both dressage and hunter/jumper competitions was not included in the sale of the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center to a European investment group and has since been re-named Wellington International.

Plans for development of Equestrian Village for hundreds of houses have been submitted to the local government for approval.

Concerns were also heightened by applications for several hundred VIP tables not yet available.

Plans have been reported to acquire large tracts of land to expand Wellington International where hunter-jumper competitions are held to provide a new home for dressage.
