Vamos Amigos ridden by Denmark’s Cathrine Laudrup Dufour to world championship team gold and two silver medals has been taken over by Annabella Pidgley whose family owns the 10-year-old Westfalen. Vamos joins Gio that was ridden by Charlotte Dujardin to Freestyle bronze at the Tokyo Olympics as competition mounts for the 18-year-old Annabella.
Annabella, 2022 European Junior Champion individual silver and team bronze medalist on Espe this summer, announced the move on social media.
“Undoubtedly this horse has already had an impressive career under the invaluable training and guidance of Cathrine Dufour and I cannot thank her enough for supporting this next step for him and for giving me the opportunity to own a horse like this,” she said. “He is a very special horse and I am really looking forward to getting to know him better under Cathrine’s experienced eye. Welcome home Vamos; so many are happy to have you here and thank you Cathrine for everything you do. I am so thankful for you.”
Before the world championships, Cathrine rode Vamos to second place at the World Cup Final behind world No. 1 Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB and swept the Nations Cup CDIO5* at Aachen, Germany.
Cathrine will train Annabella and Vamos.
