OCALA, Florida, Sept. 15, 2022–Sarah Tubman and First Apple posted a personal best score to win the CDI3* Grand Prix Thursday in the first competition since returning from the first European circuit for the partnership.

Sarah and the 12-year-old KWPN stallion scored 71.087% for the victory. The 2019 Pan American Games independent gold medal duo competed in three events in Austria and Germany including at the premier World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany over summer.

This was the first CDI Grand Prix victory and the second at Big Tour for Sarah and First Apple having won a Grand Prix Special at Wellington in February 2020. The pair, based in Wellington, will compete in the Freestyle Friday night.

Lehua Custer, also of Wellington, and F.J. Ramzes, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding, were awarded 69,022% for runner-up.

Kerrigan Gluch of Ocala and the 11-year-old PRE gelding Mejorano HGF were third on 67.000%.

Anna Marek of Dunnellon, Florida on Fire Fly, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding, won the Grand Prix for the Special on a score of 68.739%.

Jessica Howington of Ocala and Cavalia, 15-year-old KWPN mare, placed second on 67.630%.
