Olivia LaGoy-Weltz has a new mount, Igeral D, an 11-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding, bought by sponsor Mary Anne McPhail as a prospective United States team horse.

The 11-year-old Igeral, was competed by Danish team rider Anna Zibrandtsen for three victories in three starts at national Small Tour. Anna works with Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour who rode Vamos Amigos to lead Denmark’s team to world championship gold.

Igeral (Briar x Richfield), schooling Grand Prix, is already with Olivia, 38, at Haymarket, Virginia.

“He’s a sweet guy,” Olivia said. “Vry different type for me. Like a little sports car.”

Mary Anne of Palm Beach, Florida told dressage-news.com she and her husband, Walter, are “very excited” about the prospects for Igeral that has been given the barn name “Wally.”

Plans are for Igeral to compete at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida next winter.

Olivia competed Lonoir, a Danish Warmblood  gelding, on both sides of the Atlantic for eight years until his retirement this year.

Olivia and Lonoir were on five U.S. Nations Cups teams including the 2018 gold medal squad at Rotterdam.
