Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour and Vamos Amigos rocket to No. 6 in the world behind the Danish rider’s No. 2 Bohemian, the highest ranked active combination in the world, according to the latest International Equestrian Federation standings.

Cathrine has not yet decided whether to compete at the world championships in Herning, Denmark in a month on her Tokyo Olympic horse Bohemian, a 12-year-old Westfalen gelding, ranked second in the world since last September or the 10-year-old stallion Vamos Amigos that jumped to sixth from 55th at the end of May.

Whichever horse the 30-year-old rider decides on, she will have the highest ranked team as announced by the Danish federation heading into the championships with Carina Cassøe Krüth on Heiline’s Danciera standing fifth, Nanna Skodborg Merrald on Orthilia 15th and Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Marshall-Bell 16th.

Germany’s Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, pregnant with her second child, and TSF Dalera BB retained their world No. 1 ranking while Isabell Werth and Weihegold OLD stand fourth, but the horse was retired at the World Cup Final three months ago.

Isabell and DSP Quantaz, nominated for the team, rank seventh while Frederic Wandres and Duke of Britain FRH that was a star at Aachen’s World Equestrian Festival, moved up two places to 14th and on Bluetooth OLD was 25th, both horses nominated.

Great Britain has posted it’s nominated combinations–up to eight can be made from which the team of four will be decided definitely in a month.

Charlotte Dujardin is still ranked third in the world on the Olympic medalist mount Gio that was sold but is named on Imhotep, standing at No. 303. However, she is scheduled to compete the nine-year-old KWPN gelding at a CDI3* in Hartpury, England next week.

Charlotte Fry is named on Everdale ranked eighth and Glamourdale at 20th. Others named: Susan Pape on Harmony’s Eclectish, the 13-year-old KWPN stallion ranked 73rd that she owns with Harmony Amateur Sports Foundation of Kiowa, Colorado and has competed mostly at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival for the past four years, Richard Davison on his home-bred Bubblingh at No. 51, Gareth Hughes on both Classic Briolinca at 307th and Sintano van Hof Olympia 189th and Laura Tomlinson on Fallatijn 77th.

The two United States combinations are Steffen Peters on Suppenkasper up to 19th in the world from 30th the previous month and Adrienne Lyle on Salvino to 29th from 70th at the end of May. (Separate story come)
