COMPIÈGNE, France, May 21, 2022–Sweden’s Patrik Kittel dominated the CDI3* Saturday, capturing the Grand Prix Freestyle on Forever Young HRH and the Grand Prix Special on Blue Hors Zepter.

The Olympic and world championship rider and Forever Young HRH, a 10-year-old Westfalen mare, were awarded 79.965% for the victory in the Freestyle. It was only the second CDI musical performance for the pair that won the Grand Prix a day earlier on a personal best score.

Fellow Swede Jeanna Hogberg on Astoria, a 10-year-old Swedish Warmblood mare, scored 78.750% for second, the same position as in the Grand Prix.

Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry on Inclusive, a nine-year-old KWPN stallion, were third on 78.600%, also a personal best.

Patrik and Blue Hors Zepter, the 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding, won the pair’s first Grand Prix Special with a score of 76.617%. Patrik has been competing Zepter, the former mount of Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann Andersen, for only the past three months and performed at the World Cup Final in early April.

Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin on Imhotep, the nine-year-old KWPN gelding that the Olympic gold medal rider debuted here at Big Tour, placed second on 76.064%.

Gareth Hughes, also of Britain, and Classic Briolinca were third on 74.936%. Gareth and the 16-year-old KWPN mare won the Grand Prix Friday in their return to competition after a break of about 1 1/2 years.
