MANNHEIM, Germany, May 8, 2022–Isabel Freese and Total Hope OLD won CDI4* Grand Prix Sunday in the Big Tour debut of the 10-year-old Totilas son.
The Norwegian rider for Paul Schockemöhle and the Oldenburg stallion sired by Totilas out of the mare Weihegold OLD scored 75.956% for the win.
The pair won the German Championships Nürnberger Burg-Pokal Prix for developing Prix St. Georges in 2019 and last year took the Louisdor Prize for developing Grand Prix.
Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rath and the nine-year-old Destacado FRH that was also a young horse star posted a personal best score of 75.217% for runner-up.
Matthias and the Hanoverian stallion posted two Grand Prix victories earlier this year. The duo was reserve champion at the World five-year-old championships and fourth at six years of age. The pair won the Burg-Pokal Final in 2020.
Fellow Germans Dorothee Schneider and First Romance, a 12-year-old gelding, placed third on 75.109% while Isabell Werth and Superb were fourth on 73.870% in the second Big Tour start for the 10-year-old mare.
