Dehavilland, an American-bred gelding that Sarah Tubman developed from a yearling to Small Tour, has been sold to Amanda Atkins as a prospect for the 2023 Pan American Games.
Dehavilland, a gelding registered as Oldenburg (Diamond Hit x Hohenstein), was competed by Sarah on both coasts from 2015 including at developing Prix St. Georges at the 2020 U.S. Festival of Champions. Sarah last competed Dehavilland, now 11 years old, at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington in the winter of 2021.
The 30-year-old Amanda moved from Richmond, Virginia to Wellington, Florida to train full-time with Sarah and her husband, Lee.
Amanda plans to compete Dehavilland initially at Small Tour, though the horse has been schooling Grand Prix. She will continue to train with Sarah and Lee with the 2023 Pan Ams in Santiago, Chile as a goal.
Sarah rode First Apple to gold at the 2019 Pan Ams.
