HAGEN, Germany, April 23, 2022–Isabell Werth completed her domination of the Horses & Dreams tournament riding DSP Quantaz to victory in the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Saturday.

The score of 78.915% for Isabell and Quantaz gave the pair the second win in the CDI4* after posting two first placings in the debut of Superb 2 in the CDI3*.

This was the first Special in a year for Isabell and world No. 6 ranked Quantaz, owned by Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer and Isabell’s long-time supporter Madeleine Winter-Schultze.

For most of the past year, Isabell’s competition focus was on Bella Rose at the Tokyo Olympics that boosted the rider’s Olympic medal tally to 12, and Weihegold OLD at the 2021 European Championships and the World Cup Final earlier this month. Both horses have now been retired.

Isabell is working toward earning a start at what would be her seventh world championship, to be held at Herning, Denmark in August.

Fellow German Benjamin Werndl on Famoso OLD, 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding, was second on 76.659%. The pair was the only one to receive a score of at least 80%, 81.064% from Great Britain’s Peter Storr. However, the duo also received a mark of 73.936% from Raphael Saleh of France.

Sweden’s Therese Nilshagen and Dante Weltino OLD were third on 76.489%. Therese and the 15-year-old Oldenburg stallion competed at the Tokyo Games last summer as well as the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon. The pair led Sweden to bronze at the 2017 Europeans and were also on the bronze medal team at the 2019 Europeans as well as top scoring combination on the fourth placed Swedish team in 2021.
