WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 20, 2022–Jennifer Williams and Joppe K claimed a start in the Lövsta Future Challenge final for developing Grand Prix by winning the Intermediate II Sunday in the last series qualifier. Jan Ebeling on Zitat achieved the same result in the Summit Farmwa Prix St. Georges for developing Small Tour horses.

The winners of the Future Challenge series arde invited to the final that will be staged in a week.

Although the focus last year and for most of the Global winter circuit so far has been on Small Tour, but “we just kind of wanted to have fun and just test the waters in front of the judges. Our main goal for the year was the small tour, but everything has just been going so well, we thought why not, let’s just see, and it worked out today.”

She bought Joppe in the Netherlands when the horse was 4 1/2 years old and has developed him since, working with Wellington-based trainer Oded Shimoni when in Florida.

“I think in some ways he’s a very electric horse, but he’s very trustworthy,” Jennifer said, noting that Joppe was not affected by a late afternoon torrential downpour–“the puddles made it really fun and animated.”
