Russian and Belarusian athletes, horses and officials will be prohibited from participating in international equestrian events sanctioned by the FEI in an extension of measures that last week canceled all events in the two nations.

The FEI announced Tuesday an emergency board resolution prohibiting participation effective Sunday, Mar. 6 as a consequence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and support by Belarus.

The resolution also prohibits effective immediately display of Russian and Belarusian flags, or their anthems played at, or in connection with, any FEI Events.

The only known Russian scheduled to compete in Wellington this week is jumper rider Liubov Kochetova, a long time participant in U.S. competitions. She rode for Russia at the 2008 Olympics and the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon as well as other championships.
