WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 2, 2022–Haute Couture will be ridden by Katherine Bateson Chandler in their first U.S. competition following the purchase of the Dutch Olympic team reserve mount.

Katherine and the 10-year-old KWPN mare will make their American debut in the Global Dressage Festival CDI4* Grand Prix Thursday. The pair are one of 14 from seven nations in the Grand Prix for the Special.

Sarah Tubman on First Apple, the U.S. 2019 Pan American Games gold medal partnership, and Naïma Moreira Laliberté on Statesman, reserve for Canada’s Olympic team, are in the lineup.

Haute Couture was reserve for the Netherlands Olympic team with Dinja van Liere who also competed the horse at last year’s European Championships as well as the 2017 and 2019 World Young Horse Championships.

The mare (Connaisseur x IPS Krack C) was bought by Jennifer Huber, a longtime friend, for Katherine, who rode for the U.S. at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky and in recent years in nine Nations Cup competitions on Alcazar.
