WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 10, 2022–Charlotte Jorst riding the 19-yeear-old Kastel’s Nintendo won the Global Dressage Festival World Cup Short Grand Prix Thursday, the first competition for the pair this year in campaigning with hopes of earning a wild card invitation to the global championship Final in April.
Charlotte and the KWPN stallion scored 72.579% in their first Short Grand Prix and nearing the end of qualifying in North America. Charlotte competed Nintendo for the United States at the 2016 World Cup Final. She has shown Nintendo at Big Tour on both sides of the Atlantic since 2013.
Canada’s Tokyo Olympic team partnership of Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu and All In placed second on 71.895%.
Juan Matute Guimon who brought Quantico back to his family’s base in Wellington in hopes of picking up enough points to represent Spain in the Final was awarded 70.447% for third place.
Anna Buffini of San Diego, California on FRH Davinia la Douce was fourth with 70.316% after leading in the competition before some costly mistakes.
However, the Friday Night Stars Freestyle is what counts to earn points based on placings in the musical performance.
Ashley Holzer of Wellington has an insurmountable lead in North America while Codi Harrison also of Wellington and second ranked scratched from this week’s qualifier opening the door to other prospects.
