Equestrian events at Los Angeles in 2028 has been recommended by the International Olympic Committee executive board as one of the core 28 Olympic sports with a final decision to be made in February.

If the recommendation is approved by the full IOC in two months time, the Los Angeles Games in 2028 will mark 116 years of equestrian sports at all 27 Olympics since the inaugural appearance in Stockholm in 1912. The traditional three Olympic disciplines of dressage, eventing and jumping are included in the next Games, in Paris in 2024.

Finalization of the events and athlete quotas will be confirmed in December 2024 following the Paris Games. In recent years, the three Olympic disciplines have had a total of 200 horse and rider combinations, with dressage making up 60 pairs.

Organizers of LA28 have already selected the location of equestrian.

Los Angeles with the 2028 Games will be the only city to have hosted three Olympics–the first in 1932 and the second occasion in 1984 that revolutionized funding and management of Olympics.
