VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 29, 2021–Jovian was ridden by Andreas Helgstard to World 7-year-old Championship gold Sunday to lead a sweep of the medals by Danish riders.
Andreas and Jovian, a KWPN stallion (Apache x Tango), received a score of 89.136 from the judges, three judging as a young horse and two as if a dressage test. Jovian received 10s for the trot and perspective, 8 for the walk and 9.8 for canter and submission.
Jovian was the champion in 2019, but could not seek to repeat in 2020 as the championships were not held because of coronavirus.
Nanna Skodborg Merrald on Blue Hors Touch of Olympic L, a Danish Warmblood gelding (Don Olymbrio x Fidermark) took silver on 83.965%.
Anne-Mette Strandby Hansen rode Eternity, a Westfalen gelding (Escolar x Sir Donnerhall) to the bronze on 83.407%.
