VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 29, 2021–Hesselhoej Down Town was ridden by Sweden’s Jeanna Hogberg, to World five-year-old Championship gold Sunday with Eva Möller on Danciero taking silver and Holland’s Kirsten Brouwer on Lightning Star bronze.

Down Town, a Danish Warmblood stallion (Hesselhoej Donkey Boy x Blue Hors Zack) scored 97.000% for the win with Danciero (Dancier x Floriscount) on 96.600% and Lightning Star (Ferguson x de Niro) on 92.800%.

Down Town’s sire, Hesselhoej Donkey Boy, competed in these championships in 2017 to take silver, in 2018 placing fifth and 2019 for silver. In 2020, rider Jan Møller Christensen of Denmark won three of four Small Tour starts.
