VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 25, 2021–Kjento, a KWPN black stallion, was ridden by Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry to win the World Six-Year-Old Championship qualifier Wednesday, posting marks of 10 for both trot and canter.

Kjento (Negro x Jazz) and the British Olympic rider were awarded 9.4, with 10s for both trot and canter, 8 for walk and 9.5s for submission and perspective.

Escamillo, a Rhinelander stallion (Escolar x Rhodiamant) and ridden by Manuel Dominguez Bernal of Spain, was second on 9.2.

Suarez, a Hanoverian stallion by Sezuan, with Mette Sejbjerg Jensen of Denmark aboard was third on 8.4 with Germany-based Australian Simone Pearce on the Hanoverian stallion Dancier Gold fourth on the same score.

Riders from nine different nations filled the top 10 places in the competition with a total of 48 starters.

The championships were canceled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
