DONAUESCHNINGEN, Germany, Aug. 15, 2021–Great Britain’s Laura Tomlinson on DSP Rose of Bavaria won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on a personal best score Sunday with Patrik Kittel in just his second start on Fiontini runner-up.

Laura and the 11-year-old Bavarian mare scored 77.277% for the win, beating the pair’s previous best of 75.340% posted two months ago and the third victory in 15 starts since beginning Big Tour in November 2019. Laura, on the 2012 Olympic gold medal team, won the Grand Prix Saturday.

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel rode Fiontini to second place on 76.085%. Patrik took over the ride on the Danish Warmblood mare after Andreas Helgstrand said he was too busy with his global equestrian sales business. Fiontini was undefeated at the World Young Horse Championships at the ages of five and six when ridden by Spain’s Severo Jurado Lopez for Helgstrand.

Australia’s Lyndal Oatley on Elvive also posted a personal best 75.128% to place third in the sixth Big Tour start for the partnership.
