SAMORIN, Slovakia, Aug. 7, 2021–Frederic Wandres rode Hot Hit to victory in the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night to launch the German team rider’s campaign for an invitation to the World Cup Final on home soil at Leipzig next April. Frederic also won the CDI3* Grand Prix on Bluetooth OLD.

Frederic and the 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 76.810% in the debut Big Tour musical performance for the partnership after capturing the Grand Prix a day earlier.

Frederic sought to compete in the annual world championship in 2019 and 2020, but the Finals were canceled due to Covid-19 and the addition of the equine herpes virus last year.

The maximum of 20 points earned here are transferred to the Western European League, in which Frederic competes, that begins its winter circuit in two months.

Frederic and Hot Hit competed internationally at Small Tour in 2019 and moved up to Intermediate II at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival last winter.

Alisa Glinka, who rides for Moldova, placed second on Aachen on 73.525% to continue their year-long dominance of the Central European League seeking to earn one of two places in the Final set aside for the region. Alisa and the 10-year-old Oldenburg have already compiled the maximum of 80 points from four earlier victories.

Austria’s Katharina Haas on Let It Be was third on 72.400%.

Frederic and Bluetooth won the CDI3* Grand Prix on a score of 71.674%. The competition was only the second at Big Tour for Frederic and the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding.

Jill Hellweg-de Ridder, also of Germany, on Whitney was second on 70.413% with Hungary’s Anikó Losonczy on Dior S third on 67.870%.
