KRONBERG, Germany, June 25, 2021–Isabell Werth and DSP Quantaz scored above 80% to win the Shafhof CDI4* Grand Prix for the Freestyle Friday in the final event for selection to Germany’s Olympic team. She will ride her world No. 1 mount Bella Rose later in the day.
Isabell and the 11-year-old German Sport Horse gelding were awarded 80.022% for the win. The 51-year-old rider is seeking to be at the Tokyo Games in a month to extend her medal count beyond the equestrian record of 10 at five Olympics. Quantaz became Isabell’s fourth 80% horse 11 months ago, the others being Bella Rose, Weihegold OLD and Emilio.
Dorothee Schneider posted a personal best 76.500% on Faustus to place second. But the German team mate will also ride Showtime FRH, her top mount, in the Grand Prix for the Special later Friday.
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on Zaire-E was third on 74.956%. She will ride TSF Dalera BB, her world No. 3 partner, in the Grand Prix for the Special.
