MUNICH, Germany, May 15, 2021–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB won the Pferd International CDI4* Grand Prix Special Saturday on a personal best score and the highest mark in the world for the Special since the 2019 European Championships.

Jessica and the 14-year-old Trakehner mare scored 84.702%, beating the pair’s previous best of 82.553% set three weeks ago. German team mates Dorothee Schneider on Showtime FRH placing second on 82.468% and Isabell Werth on DSP Quantaz in  third on 80.000%.

Isabell on Bella Rose scored 86.520% and Dorothee on Showtime 85.456% at the 2019 Europeans, to win gold and silver, respectively.

Jessica and Dalera, ranked third in the world and winners of the Grand Prix Friday, received 16 marks of 10, the maximum, with 12 of those on the final centerline of passage, piaffe, transitions and halt.

Dorothee, still feeling the effects of the broken collarbone sustained a month ago when a horse she was on collapsed, had brought Showtime, on whom she is ranked No. 4 in the world, back to competition for the first time since the 2019 Europeans so as to meet qualification requirements for the Olympic Games opening in Tokyo in 10 weeks.

The Grand Prix Special will decide team medals in Tokyo among the eight nations who advance from the Grand Prix. The individual medals will be decided by the Grand Prix Freestyle.
