MUNICH, Germany, May 14, 2021–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl rode TSF Dalera BB to within a fraction of a personal best score to win the Pferd International CDI4* Grand Prix Friday while injured German team mate Dorothee Schneider competed Showtime FRH for the first time since the 2019 European Championships for runner-up.

Jessica and the 14-year-old Trakehner mare ranked No. 3 in the world were awarded 81.609%, including six marks of 10, for the victory, 0.043% off the pair’s previous best of 81.652% posted three weeks ago.

Jessica and Dalera were on the gold medal team at the 2019 Europeans and also took bronze in the Freestyle behind triple gold medalists Isabell Werth on Bella Rose and Dorothee and Showtime that captured individual and freestyle silver.

The 53-year-old Dorothee sustained a broken collar bone when Fohlenhof’s Rock ‘n Rose collapsed under her during an awards ceremony at a national show in Germany April 18 but patched herself up to compete the 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding here to earn a score required for the Olympics in Tokyo at the end of July.

The fourth ranked partnership in the world did that with 79.109% that put them in second place. Although she did not show discomfort in the ride, Dorothee rubbed her collarbone as she left the arena on Showtime that was her Rio Olympic team gold medal mount.

Isabell Werth and DSP Quantaz were third on 76.764%.

Isabell returned Bella Rose to competition a month ago, in the first outing for the world No. 1 ranked pair since the 2019 Europeans.

Sönke Rothenberger, the only other rider from that team, has not competed Cosmo since then. The KWPN gelding, now 14 years old, was on the gold medal teams at the 2016 Rio Games, the 2018 World Equestrian Games and the 2017 and 2019 Europeans. Sönke and Cosmo are one of only six combinations in history to have scored at least 90% in a Freestyle, which they did in 2017.
