ABRANTES, Portugal, April 25, 2021–Rodrigo Torres and Fogoso Horsecampline won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special Sunday in their campaign to be selected for Portugal’s team for the Tokyo Olympics in three months.

Rodrigo and the 11-year-old Lusitano scored 72.638% for the win after placing second in the Grand Prix Saturday.

Martim Meneres on Equador was second on 70.489%.

Three of the seven competitors, including José Antonio Garcia Mena of Spain who won the Grand Prix on Divina Royal, pulled out of the Special. The show had scheduled a CDIO3* that would have been the first Nations Cup in Portugal but was canceled because of issues with the year-long Covid-19 pandemic and the recent outbreak of equine herpes virus in Europe.
