The International Dressage Officials Club and BlackHorse One, developer of instant scoring, spectator judging and freestyle degree of difficulty program, announced Friday collaboration to develop new online training and educational products for judges around the world.

The aim of the collaboration is to jointly offer innovative interactive online webinars and practice judging the same competitors remotely for aspiring and active dressage judges with guidance of distinguished course directors providing immediate feedback.

Additional statistics about their own marks and marking patterns are made available to dressage judges and course directors in real-time through the functionality of SAP HANA Cloud. IDOC said that successful pilot projects have shown that this interactive education is highly desired and considered to have strong potential to further improve the quality of judge education.

Hans Christian Matthiesen, IDOC President, said the aim was to offer officials the opportunity to improve judging skills in a good and safe environment, especially now where in-person meetings are restricted.

“Everything will be according to the FEI rules and education system and we will strive to offer seminars and training for all levels of officials,” he said. “So far we are working on seminars/webinars for dressage and para dressage judges. And we are happy to help national federations and other officials’ groups as well.”

Daniel Göhlen, CEO and founder of BlackHorse One, said the collaboration with IDOC and support from SAP, “we can now offer a completely new range of exciting training opportunities and strengthen the development of dressage education.”
