The Royal Windsor Horse Show that includes a dressage CDI4* has been set for July 1-4, six weeks later than previously scheduled, to enable an audience with the end of coronavirus restrictions.
Simon Brooks-Ward, show director of the event at Windsor Castle, Friday announced the change of dates to July, about three weeks before the start of the Olympics in Tokyo. The show had previously been scheduled for mid-May. It still will be the first international dressage event in Great Britain this year.
“We are looking forward to running a near as normal Show at Windsor in July,” Simon said. “The start of this year has been difficult for all live events, but recent government announcements have given us the confidence to go full steam ahead with the organizing of Royal Windsor, which includes planning for an audience.”
The schedule will be as close to its traditional format as possible, including international dressage, jumping, carriage driving and endurance.
“We are determined to produce one of our best events for the horse world to enjoy, with a competitive and upbeat edition of this 78-year-old horse show,” Simon said.
