OLDENBURG, Germany, Oct. 30, 2020–Henri Ruoste of Finland and Kontestro Db posted a personal best score to win the Oldenburg CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Friday and the first victory for the partnership since beginning Big Tour in February

Henri and the 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding scored 75.348% for the win in their eighth CDI start. The pair’s previous best was 74.848% set a month ago.

Dorothee Schneider and DSP Sammy Davis Jr. placed second on 74.870%. Dorothee and the 14-year-old Bavarian gelding were on Germany’s 2018 Tryon World Equestrian Games gold medal team.

Dorothee on Faustus was third on 72.261% in the show that was being held just days before sharply tightened restrictions are being imposed across Germany in an effort to combat a surge in coronavirus.

Meantime, the coronavirus caused postponement of the Aachen Youngstars originally set for the end of November, beginning of December. A new date in spring 2021 will be set.

Frank Kemperman, chairman of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. that organizes the event, said: “We deeply regret having to postpone the event, because promoting aspiring talents has long since been a key element of our work, however the health of the athletes and that of our employees and all persons involved in the show takes top priority.”
