BELOURA, Portugal, Aug. 28, 2020–João Miguel Torrao rode the Lusitano stallion Equador to a personal best score to win the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday and the third straight victory for the Portuguese partnership.
João and the 11-year-old Equador scored 77.000%, including one mark 0f 80.435% from the Swedish judge Magnus Ringmark, in the pair’s first competition since March which was when the duo posted the previous best of 74.978%.
João and Equador have been partnered from young horse competitions to the European Championships in Rotterdam last August.
José Antonio Garcia Mena of Spain on Benzi Landro was second on 69.717% with Portugal’s Maria Caetano on Fenix de Tineo third on 69.456%.
