WAYNE, Illinois, Aug. 20, 2020–America’s Alice Tarjan rode her home-bred four-year-old Gjenganger to victory Thursday while Spain’s Pablo Gomez Molina on Easy Di Fonteabeti Ymas captured the five-year-old preliminary for the United States national championships.

Alice, 41, of Frenchtown, New Jersey and Gjenganger, a Danish Warmblood mare (Grand Galaxy Win T x Don Schufro), was scored 88.400% in the four-year-old division, with 9.5 for canter, 9 for the trot, 7.7 for walk, 8.8 submissiveness and 9.2 for general impression. Gjenganger was grand champion of the 2019 dressage breed show in Devon, Pennsylvania the largest in the Americas.

Marcus Orlob , with whom Alice works in summer, was second on Flambeau on 82.200% and third on Glory Day, that’s owned by Alice.

Pablo and Easy Di Fonteabeti Ymas, registered in the United States that qualifies it to compete in the young horse championships, scored 82.800% in the five-year-old preliminary test.

Pablo, 26, and and the Hanoverian gelding qualified at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida. He competes horses for Cristina Danguillecourt and Yeguada de Ymas in the United States and Europe where Ymas is based in Toledo, Spain.

Alice and Summersby II, an Oldenburg mare (Sezuan x Sandro Hit), placed second on 81.400%. Summersby was reserve U.S. champion as a four-year-old and grand champion as a three-year-old at Devon.

Michele Bondy of Roy, Washington on Sonnenberg’s Kain scored 77.600% for third place.
