Isabell Werth’s return to the international show arena in July produced more ranking success to go along with her partnerships with Bella Rose and Weihegold OLD that remain at No. 1 and No. 2 in the world.
The latest FEI, International Equestrian Federation) rankings released Friday show that Isabell and Emilio moved up to seventh in the world from ninth previously as the coronavirus continues to take a toll on horse sports with only a handful of dressage CDIs held last month.
On DSP Quantaz, Isabell skyrocketed to 25th from 373rd at the end of June, boosted by four starts in July to go with four from 2019 that have been frozen along with every other combination because of the coronavirus pandemic. Last month’s results on the 10-year-old German Sport Horse included 80.348% at one Grand Prix to give Isabell an unprecedented four horses currently on the world standings on which she has broken that level–Bella Rose, Weihegold and Emilio are the others.
One place ahead of Quantaz is Don Johnson FRH, her German team veteran mount that she first competed at Big Tour in 2011. She also is also ranked on Den Haag at 610 in the world with just two Big Tour starts, and Quintus two places back and also with two starts.
Other big moves in the rankings included Austria’s four-time Olympian Victoria Max-Theurer on Rockabilly climbing to 58th from 219. Vici, who is coached by Isabell, is also the owner of Quantaz.
Sönke Rothenberger who resumed showing Santiano after a coronavirus break of five months moved up to No. 48 from 59th. Cosmo, his Olympic and World Games team gold medal mount, edged down a couple of places to 67th. The pair have not competed since the European Championships in 2019.
