HAGEN, Germany, July 17, 2020–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB won the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday night in the first competition in five months for the world and European team gold medalists.
Jessica and 13-year-old Trakehner mare, were awarded 79.370% for the fourth straight victory extending back to last November for the world’s No. 4 ranked combination. The Grand Prix with 27 starting combinations was staged under lights with restrictions on spectators because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Jessica and Dalera were on Germany’s gold medal teams at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon and the 2019 European Championships as well as taking Freestyle bronze.
Frederic Wandres on Duke of Britain and Sweden’s Patrik Kittel and Well Done de la Roche CMF tied on 75.848%, but the German combination with a personal best score was placed second and Patrik and Well Done third.
The previous best Grand Prix score for Frederic and Duke of Britain, a 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding, was 74.761% set in February.
Patrik and the 12-year-old Swiss Warmblood, the highest ranked Swedish combination at No. 14, competed in the same world and European Championships as Jessica.
Sönke Rothenberger and Santiano of Germany were fourth on a personal best 74.783%, easily surpassing their previous high of 71.783% in January.
