Tokyo’s Equestrian Park has been confirmed as the venue for dressage and jumping at the Olympic Games in the summer of 2021.
Tokyo organizing committee spokesperson told dressge-news.com: “Our discussions are continuing, but at this stage we have received basic approval from about 80% of the venue owners for the use of their facilities next year and Equestrian Park is among them.”
Equestrian Park is owned by the Japan Racing Association that undertook major renovations for the Games and provided the venue free of charge for the Olympics.
The Olympics were to staged late July and August this year but were moved back a year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Commitments were made before the postponement for other events to be held at some venues following the Olympics.
The JRA Equestrian Park hosted equestrian events of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.
