Hof Kasselmann’s first online auction ended Saturday with 12 young dressage horses sold for a total of €1.4/US$1.526 million with the top price going to Germany and the second highest to the United States. Five of the 12 horses auctioned by the Hagen, Germany-based Hof Kasselmann will stay in Germany, four head to the U.S. and one each to Australia, Brazil and Luxembourg.
Bussarto, a 2016 dark bay stallion offspring of Buckingham, brought the top price of €384,000/US$418,660 to go to a private stable in the south of Germany.
For a Hit, a 2016 black stallion (Finest x Donnerhall) was bought for €304,000/US$331,440 by a Seattle customer of David Wilson’s W Farms in Chino Hills, California.
Ashley Holzer, a four-time Olympian based in Wellington, Florida and a long-time sponsor bought Fincent, a three-year-old black stallion (Fürst Jazz x Sandro Hit) for €61,000/US$66,500).
Ashley said, “I’m so excited about the horse, I really like it.
“I’ve always loved the father,” Fürst Jazz, that she described as “an amazing stallion.”
“It is amazing how well the online customer service offer has been and will be accepted,” said Francois Kasselmann when the auction closed.
