HERNING, Denmark, Mar. 5, 2020–Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and Destiny OLD won the Danish Warmblood Stallion CDI3* Grand Prix Thursday in the Big Tour debut of the son of her German Olympic team gold medal mount Desperados.
Kristina and the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 73.609% for the win three weeks after Desperados died at the age of 19. Desperados was ridden by Kristina at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and several championships, becoming the No. 1 combination in the world.
Denmark’s Amma Kasprzak on Fuhur placed second on 72.087% with Diederik van Silfhout of the Netherlands on Pin Rock’s Foxfire Blitz third on 71.826% in the horse’s international debut.
A total of 900 stallions for selection, dressage and jumping horses from more than 20 countries are at Herning to compete in the stallion show. CDI5* and CDI3* competitions are on the schedule.
