WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 16, 2020–Olympic rider Jan Ebeling qualified Status Royal OLD Sunday in the Lövsta Future Challenge Developing Grand Prix series at the Adequan Global Festival. Sarah Lockman, Pan American Games gold medal rider, on Balia won the Summit Farm developing Prix St. Georges series qualifier.

Jan of Moorpark, California and the 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Statesman x Rubin Royal) scored 72.353% in the Int. II qualifier. The winning score earned the pair a start in the developing Grand Prix final at the end-of-March conclusion of the Global circuit.

Jan said after the ride: “I’m very mad at myself for missing it last year because I think it’s a wonderful tour for the young horses,” referring to the inaugural developing Prix St. Georges that was expanded this year to developing Grand for this year.

“It’s just great. It’s what we need.”

Jan began competing Status Royal after the horse was acquired by Ann Romney. Ann was in the group that owned Rafalca, the mare that Jan rode for the United States at the 2012 London Olympics.

Sarah Lockman on Balia won the Summit Farm developing Prix St. Georges that will hold its final in Global’s centerpiece main arena along with the developing Grand Prix finale.

Sarah, individual gold and team silver rider of Summit Farm’s First Apple at last July’s Pan American Games, was awarded 73.603% on Balia to top the starting lineup of eight combinations in the developing St. Georges.

Sarah has been developing the eight-year-old Balia (Belissimo x Florestan) since the mare was bought by Summit of Murietta, California at the age of five.
