NEUMÜNSTER, Germany, Feb. 15, 2020–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl rode TSF Dalera BB to a personal best score to win the World Cup Grand Prix Saturday for the fourth victory in the past year over German team mate Isabell Werth.
The score of 81.500% for Jessica and the 13-year-old Trakehner mare was the first Grand Prix result above 80%. The pair’s previous best was 79.848% set last November.
Isabell riding Emilio as a backup to Weihegold OLD, her three-time World Cup champion mount, placed second on 78.130%.
Benjamin Werndl, Jessica’s brother, on Famoso was third on 74.587%.
Jessica is tied with Benjamin at the top of the World Cup Western European League but has said she does not plan to go to Las Vegas for the Final in mid-April but focus on selection for the Tokyo Olympics.
She and Dalera, ranked No. 5 in the world, was on the German gold medal team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games as well as at last September’s European Championship team where the pair also took Freestyle bronze.
The Freestyle to decide World Cup points is scheduled for Sunday in this, the ninth of 11 qualifiers in Western Europe for the Final of the annual world championship.
