The four riders on the United States team that took bronze at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 are gathered at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida as the nation prepares for another Olympics, 24 years on.

The riders are in Wellington that is pivotal for selection of the U.S. team for Tokyo.

The 1996 team riders are Robert Dover, who lives in Wellington; Steffen Peters of San Diego, California, Michelle Gibson of Canton, Georgia and Günter Seidel of Cardiff, California.

The 1996 Atlanta Games were the first of four Olympics so far for Steffen, the first of three so far for Günter, the first for Michelle and the fourth for Robert that eventually totaled six Games.

In Atlanta, Robert rode Metallic, Steffen was on Udon, Michelle on Peron and Günter on Graf George.

At this year’s Global circuit, Steffen is competing Suppenkasper; Günter, in addition to coaching, reports he plans to compete at Grand Prix, while Robert and Michelle are focused on coaching.
