LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Nov. 9, 2019–Adiah HP was ridden by James Koford to the US Dressage Final Grand Prix Freestyle Championship Saturday night, the third straight annual title for the American-bred Friesen mare that has captured the heart of her homeland’s sport horse community.
James and the 12-year-old part Friesen and part Dutch Warmblood won the Freestyle a day after capturing the Grand Prix at the Finals, a competition of both amateur and open classes at all levels based on results at regional championships across the United States.
The pair received a score of 75.108% for the musical performance from the panel of three American judges. Kristin Wasemiller-Knutson and Vashti placed second on 72.358% with Michael Bragdell on Qredit Hilltop third on 72.250%.
Adiah was bred and is owned by Jon and Sherry Koella of Hidden Promise Sport Horse farm in Dandrige, Tennessee.
Jim and the mare (Nico x Anton) have competed for almost two years at Big Tour CDIs on the East Coast of the United States, mostly at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida.
