OLDENBURG, Germany, Nov. 3, 2014–Germany’s Matthias Bouten on Meggle’s Boston won the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle on a personal best score to celebrate the first international victory on the 13-year-old stallion exactly a year after starting their partnership.
Matthias and the KWPN stallion scored 77.804% for the win, the 14th start since the duo began international competition at this same show in 2018.
Christoph Koschel on Ballentines also posted a personal best 75.610% for runnerup
The German rider and the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion began their international competition career together at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington Florida, at Small Tour almost three years ago then moving to Grand Prix a year later.
Christoph and Ballentines logged their first Big Tour victory in Belgium two months ago on 75.090% in what was the duo’s highest score at the time.
Christoph returns to Florida for the 2020 winter circuit along with contenders for Japan’s Olympic team of which he is the coach.
Great Britain’s Lara Butler on Kristjan was third on a personal best 74.315% that was the pair’s third Big Tour musical performance.
