NICE, France, Oct. 6, 2019–Victoria Max-Theurer rode Benaglio to a personal best score to win the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday.
The four-time Olympian for Austria and the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 76.725%, surpassing their previous best result of 75.475% set in May that was one of the pair’s three previous Big Tour musical performances.
Victoria and Benaglio won the Grand Prix Friday. This week’s two victories brought the number of wins to three in the duo’s Grand Prix career beginning six months ago.
Anne Sophie Serre of France on Actuelle de Massa, a Lusitano mare, placed second on 75.650% in only the second Freestyle in six starts since beginning Big Tour two months ago.
Anne Sophie and Vistoso de Massa, a Lusitano gelding, won the Grand Prix Special Saturday.
Austria’s Stefan Lehfellner on Fackeltanz OLD was third on 72.985%.
