TALLINN, Estonia, Oct. 5, 2019–Rose Mathisen and Zuidenwind won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday to give a Swedish pair a jump start in seeking to qualify for the Final in Las Vegas next April.
Rose and the 15-year-old KWPN stallion were awarded 75.063% to earn 20 points the 2017 European Championships team rider can take back to Western Europe. Rose and Zuidenwind won the Grand Prix Friday, for the second double victory this year.
Estonia’s Dina Ellermann placed second on Donna Anna with a score of 72.481% and third on Landy’s Akvarel on 71.469%.
The standings are already crowded ahead of the start of the Western European circuit beginning in Denmark this month as many riders have sought a head start by competing in Central Europe.
Central Europe with two starting places at the Final is led by Hanna Karasiova and Olga Safronova, both of Belarus. Neither rider competed here with just two more qualifiers remaining in Central Europe, Minsk, Ratomka in Belarus Oct. 16-20 and Zakrzow, Poland Oct. 25-27.Results:
