European Dressage Championships were spread over six days, highlighted by almost perfect summer weather turning South Florida hot and humid at the end–temperatures near mid 90sF/34C. A fleeting torrential downpour in the Grand Prix early in the week caught Cathrine Dufour and Cassidy at its worst. One would never know that she might have been uncomfortable, Cathrine has a positive and friendly attitude as well as a lifelong partnership with the appealing Cassidy that she has competed for lots of medals at European Junior and Young Rider Championships, went to the 2016 Olympics together then earned team silver and individual and freestyle bronzes at the 2017 Europeans. Two days after this drenching that earned a start for Denmark at the 2020 Olympics, the pair broke up the German powerhouse by earning individual bronze and placing fourth in the Grand Prix Freestyle behind the German medal trio. © 2019 Ken Braddick/dressage-news.com
