A woman was shot twice in the chest Wednesday on the dressage center of United States Olympic team rider Michael Barisone in New Jersey, and two others injured. Police reported one of the injured, not identified, was in custody in connection with the shooting, according to NJ.com, a news site for the state’s newspapers.

The shooting and the injuries, reported not to be from gunshots, at or near Hawthorne Farm, a 53-acre property at Long Valley where Michael Barisone and Barisone Dressage are located, about 55 miles/88 km west of New York City.

Michael, 54 years old, was a member of the U.S. team at the 2008 Olympics, but did not ride as teams were restricted to three-combinations. He coached Allison Brock on the U.S. team at the 2016 Olympics that won bronze.

A law enforcement source told NJ Advance Media that the woman who was shot was taken to Morristown Medical Center. Her condition was not known.

NJ.com reported at least 10 police vehicles and a trailer from the Morris County sheriff’s office were at the horse training facility.

Barisone Dressage also operates a training center in Loxahatchee, Florida, a community adjacent to Wellington, home of the Global Dressage Festival.
