ACHLEITEN, Austria, June 14, 2019–Simone Pearce, a successful young horse competitor, and Scolari won the CDI4* Grand Prix Friday in the Australian rider’s first ever Big Tour victory.
In the first CDI since a serious riding accident in Australia late last year, Simone and the 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 71.370% in the CDI debut for the pair. It was the highest ever CDI Grand Prix result for Simone.
Switzerland’s Birgit Wientzek Pläge on Robinvale was second on 69.217% with Lisa Müller of Germany on Birkhof’s Dave FBW third on 68.500%.
Simone, 27 years old relocated to Germany after three years working for Helgstrand Dressage in Denmark that included success in four World Young Horse Championships. In 2017, Simone was the first Australian to qualify in both the world five and six-year-old finals, a year after becoming only the second Australian to ever qualify for a final when she made it with Fine Time that placed 11th in the five-year-old championship.
She competed Scolari in a Dutch national show last month. The horse was shown in one CDI Grand Prix by Marcus Erkins in 2015.
