CHESTER, England, June 13, 2019–Charlotte Dujardin and Mount St. John Freestyle won the Equerry Bolesworth International CDI3* Grand Prix Special Thursday on a personal best score that beat the British pair’s World Equestrian Games individual bronze medal result. Charlotte and Erlentanz also posted a personal best to win the Grand Prix Freestyle.

Charlotte and Freestyle, a 10-year-old Hanoverian mare, scored 82.979% in the fourth Special for the partnership since beginning Big Tour 14 months ago and a day after posting a new Grand Prix high that was also the duo’s first result above 80%.

Carl Hester on Hawtins Delicato, team mates at the Tryon world championships last September, also logged a personal best 78.936% in the pair’s third Special.

Gareth Hughes on Classic Briolinca, 13-year-old KWPN mare, was third on 76.787%.

Charlotte and Erlentanz scored 84.100% in what was the third Freestyle for the pair.  Charlotte has been competing the 12-year-old Trakehner gelding this year for rider/owner Sonnar Murray Brown who is recovering from a car accident,

Richard Davison on Bubblingh, a 13-year-old homebred KWPN gelding, placed second on a personal best 78.785%. Richard has been competing Bubblingh at Big Tour for more than four years and is aiming the horse for the rider’s fifth Olympic Games.

Ulrik Moelgaard, a British-based Dane, rode Michigan to third place.

This dressage and jumping event was forced to close its gates to the public for the entire five days because of local flooding.
