LIPICA, Slovenia, May 25, 2019–Elena Sidneva on her World Equestrian Games mount Fuhur won the World Cup Grand Prix Saturday for the first Big Tour victory for the Russian team combination.

Elena, who competed for Russia at the 2000 Sydney Olympics as well as three World Games and five World Cup Finals, scored 70.957% on the 10-year-old Russian-bred gelding for the win, the first since starting Big Tour in March 2018.

Uwe Schwanz and Hermes, 11-year-old German Sport Horse gelding, placed second on 69.978%.

Slovakia’s Michael Bugan on For President was third on 69.348%.

France’s Alexandre Ayache on Zo What won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on a personal best score of 71.043%. The previous best for Alexandre and the 15-year-old KWPN gelding was 70.362% at the beginning of this month.

Germany’s Jill de Ridder and Whitney placed second on 69.660% with Katharina Haas of Austria on Saint Tropez OLD third on 68.340%.
