AALBORG, Denmark, May 16, 2019–Denmark’s Olympic partnership of Cathrine Dufour and Cassidy won the CDI3* Grand Prix Thursday to remain undefeated in three starts so far this year.

The No. 25 ranked combination of Cathrine and the 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, scored 76.196% to lead a Danish sweep of the top four places.

This was the second show this year after an injury kept the pair out of competition for seven months, causing them to miss the World Equestrian Games in Tryon last fall.

Nanna Skodborg Merrald on Saadan Que scored 71.022% for second place in the first Big Tour competition for the 11-year-old Danish Warmblood mare.

The 25-year-old rider and Saadan Que competed on Denmark’s team at the European Under-25 Championships last August.

Helene Melsen on Aston Martin was third on 70.739%.

The partnership of Cathrine, 27 years old, and Cassidy has included the 2010 European Junior Rider Champioships, and the Young Rider Europeans, winning seven medals including two individual golds before riding on the Danish team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The duo led Denmark to team silver at the 2017 European Championships as well as capturing two individual bronzes. The duo is the only Danish pair to be among the 19 combinations in the history of the sport to score at least 80% at Big Tour Grand Prix.
