MARIAKOLNAK, Hungary, May 11, 2019–Luxembourg’s Sascha Schulz on Dragao kicked off their World Cup campaign with a victory Saturday in the CDI-W Grand Prix Freestyle.

Sascha and the 11-year-old Lusitano stallion scored 75.440% for the win in the pair’s first competition of the year.

Russia’s Regina Isachkina on the big moving Rhinelander stallion Sun of May Life placed second on 74.650%. The combination that competed at the World Cup Final last month earned enough points to move into a tie with Anastasiya Dudkova of Belarus at the top of the World Cup Central European standings. Four of 16 qualifiers scheduled for Central Europe have been staged to fill two places assigned to the region for the Final in Las Vegas next April.

Morgan Barbançon Mestre of France on Bolero was third on 74.205% to compile 21.5 points from two qualifiers to boost the pair to the top of the Western European League standings.
