HAGEN, Germany, April 28, 2019–Sönke Rothenberger and Cosmo won the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Sunday for back-to-back victories at Horses & Dreams while Jessica von Bredow-Werndl rode TSF Dalera BB to a personal best score for runner-up by a quarter percentage point.

Sönke and Cosmo, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding, made several mistakes to be awarded a score of 79.681% in the first show in more than six months. The German Olympic and World Games team gold medal pair won the Grand Prix a day earlier.

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Dalera, a 12-year-old Trakehner mare, was the last of 15 combinations to go in the Special and almost stole the show from their World Games team mates with a score of 79.404%, more than three percentage points higher than their previous best of 76.255% set last July.

The performance by Jessica and Dalera, ranked No. 11 in the world and starting their second year at Big Tour, pushed Isabell and Emilio, a 13-year-old Westfalen gelding, into third place on 78.298%. Isabell and Emilio, ranked fourth in the world, was second in the Grand Prix.

The judges of the Special were split–three put Sönke, 24 years old, and Cosmo first and two went for Jessica and Dalera, as did the spetators by a big margin.
