Steffen of San Diego and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding scored 75.960% for the win, the seventh in as many starts on the California circuit this year after earning team silver for the United States at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon last fall.
Sabine of Thousand Oaks, California and Sanceo, a 13-year-old Hanoverian stallion, were awarded 69.957% for runner-up in the first competition since this same event in 2018.

The pair was ranked No. 26 in the world and the third highest American combination at the time but with no results since have dropped to 480th.
Nick Wagman of Rancho Santa Fe on Don John was third on 69.217%.
