HERNING, Denmark, Mar. 10, 2019–Cathrine Dufour and Cassidy completed their comback with a big win in the Danish Warmblood Stallion Show CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday while Danish team mate Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio posted a personal best score to be runner-up for the second time.
Cathrine and the and the 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding scored 86.500 per cent for the win in the first competition since last July. The pair competed at the 2016 Olympics and won three bronze medals at the 2017 European Championships but an injury to Cassidy forced the duo to skip the Tryon World Equestrian Games.
Daniel and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion scored 82.540 per cent, beating their previous best freestyle score of 80.400 per cent set in January.
Spain’s Severo Jurado López and Fiontini, competing at Big Tour for the first time, scored 80.186 per cent to place third as they did in the Grand Prix.
Severo and the nine-year-old Danish Warmblood Fiontini (Fassbinder x Romanov) won the young horse global championships of all age groups . They will remain partnered at least through the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
